Starbucks Reserve showcases the most extraordinary coffee experiences Starbucks has to offer, featuring rare, small-lot coffees sourced from around the world. The coffee cards serve as unique takeaways for coffee lovers and travelers, acting as invitations into the rich stories behind each origin. Through expressive illustration, custom type, and premium foil finishes, each card honors the character of the coffee and the people who bring it to life.

Process

In close collaboration with the Starbucks coffee team, designers are briefed on the background of each coffee—from its origin and farming practices to processing methods and tasting notes. I translate these stories into conceptual sketches that highlight each coffee’s uniqueness. These are then developed into full-color illustrations, finished with foil details to elevate the storytelling.
